October 2024 Inspiration Challenge

Image
Hello, today I’m sharing a card I created for the Altenew October 2024 Inspiration Challenge.   Altenew products used for this card include: Blooms of Friendship Stamps and Dies sets Piped Waffle Die Set F - Sunshine Valley Garden Alcohol Markers Featured Sentiments Die Set  I started by stamping the single flower on a piece of Neenah Solar White Classic Crest 80lb. cardstock three times.  I used the Pinkalicious (R504) marker to color the petals by flicking from the center outwards and from the top downwards, leaving a white space in the middle.  To connect the top and bottom sections I filled in the white space with the Pink Diamond (R502) marker.   To give each bloom some more depth I used the Razzleberry (R616) marker for the very center   and finished with the Maple Yellow (Y207) marker for the stamen.   I stamped the word “Friendship” on a piece of cardstock similar to the Purple Wine ink, heat embossed it with white em...

Memory Box Cauldron Witch

Hello!     Today I’m sharing a fun Halloween card I created with the Cauldron Witch and Fancy Gate Globe Dies from Memory Box.   To create the gate, I sprayed some Iron Gate Distress Mica Stain on a piece of black cardstock.  After it was dry I used the Fancy Gate Globe Die from Memory Box to cut it out.  Note: I used a lightweight black cardstock for the gate.  I recommend using a heavier weight cardstock so the gate won't be flimsy.   For the wall background I cut a piece of light gray cardstock down to 4.125” x 5.375”.  I used the “Small Brick Wall” stencil from My Favorite Things and ink blended some Lost Shadow Distress Ink on the gray cardstock.   I adhered the gate to the cardstock wall, about .5” up from the bottom.  I used Eclipse Masking paper to mask off the sides and I added some Black Soot Distress Ink to give the appearance of a path leading up to the gate.  I also put the stencil down again ...

Hello!  Today I’m sharing my first card for Altenew’s Certified Educator Program.  This card is for the Irresistible Inking Techniques class.  I chose to complete this project because I have never been very comfortable with layering stamps, but after a few tries I was able to get the stamps lined up correctly.  I also love the look of the inked cardstock edges which is a technique I haven't used in a long time.   I started by cutting three panels from Neenah Solar White Classic Crest 80lb. cardstock. The first is an A2 size, 4.25” x 5.5” The second measures 4” X 5.25” The third is 3.25” x 5.25” also from the Neenah cardstock.   I also cut a 3.5” x 5.25” piece of pink cardstock from my stash.   I stamped the largest flower from Altenew’s Stunning Cosmos stamp set on the smallest piece of white cardstock with Dusty Pink Fresh Dye Ink.  Then I stamped the coordinating layer with Raspberry Sunset Fresh Dye Ink.  I used ...
