Altenew August 2024 Inspiration Challenge

Image
Hello!     I am sharing a card I created for the Altenew August 2024 Inspiration Challenge.   For this card I used the “Morning Glory” Stamp, Die and Stencil set from Altenew.   I started by stamping the flowers on a piece of Neenah Solar White Classic Crest Cardstock with Gina K. Designs Amalgam Ink.  I used the Morning Glory Stencil Set to color the image with Altenew’s Fresh Dye Inks:   Flower Petals:  Berry Mocha, Coral Bliss and Pink Pearl Leaves:  Green Opal, Mossy Meadow, Pistachio Stamen:  I used the blending brush with some Coral Bliss Ink still remaining on it and added some Altenew Crisp Dye Ink in Sunkissed.    I also used Prismacolor Colored Pencils in Terra Cotta (PC944), Henna (PC1031), Kelp Green (PC1090) and Moss Green (PC1097) to add some shading for added dimension.   I die cut the flowers using the coordinating Die Set and set aside.   The sentiment is also from the “Morning Glory” S...

Altenew Wild Daisies

Image
Hello.  Today I am sharing a card I created with the "Wild Daisies" Press Plates set from Altenew. I started by placing the floral Press Plate on my Betterpress Platform and inking it up with Gina K. Designs Amalgam Ink.  I placed a 5x7 piece of Neenah Solar White Classic Crest cardstock on the Platen, taped it down with removable tape and ran it through my die cutting machine.     To create a mask, I adhered a piece of Eclipse masking paper to a piece of 5x7 copy paper and used removable tape to adhere it to the Platen.  After inking up the Press Plate again I ran it through my die cutting machine.  I removed the masking paper from the copy paper and cut out the mask.   After placing the mask on the floral image, I did some light ink blending with Distress Inks in Stormy Sky, Salvaged Patina and Shaded Lilac.  I tried to keep my ink blending more towards the center of the paper leaving the top right and lower left corners white.  I li...

Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers Poinsettia Christmas Card

Image
Hello! Today I’m sharing an easy Christmas card featuring the “Lovely Layers Poinsettia” Die set from Honey Bee Stamps. I started by die cutting the flower and two sets of leaves from Neenah 80lb. Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock.   I used Distress Oxide Inks to add color to the flower.  First, I added Barn Door and Candied Apple ink to the base layer.  I used Vintage Photo around the edges and then blended it out with the Candied Apple ink again.  This made the base layer darker so the remaining petals would pop when I added the layers.     I continued adding ink to the remaining petals with Barn Door and Vintage Photo, blending from the edges towards the center.  I kept the centers of the petals lighter to add some dimension.     To create the flower center, I used Wild Honey Distress Oxide ink on a scrap piece of the Neenah cardstock and die cut it out.  To add the shimmer, I spritzed it with...

I placed the “Fading Tiny Dots” stencil from Simon Says Stamp on a diagonal across the white panel and used SSS Pawsitely Saturated Ink in “Morning” to add the background design.    I adhered the white panel to an A2 size...
