Hello, today I’m sharing a card I created for the Altenew October 2024 Inspiration Challenge.   Altenew products used for this card include: Blooms of Friendship Stamps and Dies sets Piped Waffle Die Set F - Sunshine Valley Garden Alcohol Markers Featured Sentiments Die Set  I started by stamping the single flower on a piece of Neenah Solar White Classic Crest 80lb. cardstock three times.  I used the Pinkalicious (R504) marker to color the petals by flicking from the center outwards and from the top downwards, leaving a white space in the middle.  To connect the top and bottom sections I filled in the white space with the Pink Diamond (R502) marker.   To give each bloom some more depth I used the Razzleberry (R616) marker for the very center   and finished with the Maple Yellow (Y207) marker for the stamen.   I stamped the word “Friendship” on a piece of cardstock similar to the Purple Wine ink, heat embossed it with white em...

Memory Box Cauldron Witch

Image
Hello!     Today I’m sharing a fun Halloween card I created with the Cauldron Witch and Fancy Gate Globe Dies from Memory Box.   To create the gate, I sprayed some Iron Gate Distress Mica Stain on a piece of black cardstock.  After it was dry I used the Fancy Gate Globe Die from Memory Box to cut it out.  Note: I used a lightweight black cardstock for the gate.  I recommend using a heavier weight cardstock so the gate won't be flimsy.   For the wall background I cut a piece of light gray cardstock down to 4.125” x 5.375”.  I used the “Small Brick Wall” stencil from My Favorite Things and ink blended some Lost Shadow Distress Ink on the gray cardstock.   I adhered the gate to the cardstock wall, about .5” up from the bottom.  I used Eclipse Masking paper to mask off the sides and I added some Black Soot Distress Ink to give the appearance of a path leading up to the gate.  I also put the stencil down again ...

Altenew Irresistible Inking Techniques

Image
Hello!  Today I’m sharing my first card for Altenew’s Certified Educator Program.  This card is for the Irresistible Inking Techniques class.  I chose to complete this project because I have never been very comfortable with layering stamps, but after a few tries I was able to get the stamps lined up correctly.  I also love the look of the inked cardstock edges which is a technique I haven't used in a long time.   I started by cutting three panels from Neenah Solar White Classic Crest 80lb. cardstock. The first is an A2 size, 4.25” x 5.5” The second measures 4” X 5.25” The third is 3.25” x 5.25” also from the Neenah cardstock.   I also cut a 3.5” x 5.25” piece of pink cardstock from my stash.   I stamped the largest flower from Altenew’s Stunning Cosmos stamp set on the smallest piece of white cardstock with Dusty Pink Fresh Dye Ink.  Then I stamped the coordinating layer with Raspberry Sunset Fresh Dye Ink.  I used ...

Altenew September 2024 Inspiration Challenge

Image
Hello, today I’m sharing a card I created for the Altenew September 2024 Inspiration Challenge. https://blog.altenew.com/september-2024-inspiration-challenge/ I used the Rosy Blooms stamps and dies sets, the Pocket Sentiments stamp and die sets, and the Dotted Waves Debossing Cover Die.  I also colored the floral image with Altenew’s Sunshine Valley Garden Alcohol Markers.   I started by stamping the largest flower in the Rosy Blooms set on a piece of Neenah Solar White Classic Crest 80lb. cardstock.  I colored it with the Pink Diamond (R502), Pinkalicious (R504) and Rubellite (C003) markers.  To give the flower a lighter pink and white edge I colored it with the Pink Diamond marker and lightly brushed a colorless blender over it.     I didn’t think the markers in this set gave me the darker pink color I was looking for to meet the challenge requirements, so I colored the little hearts with a Copic marker in RV06 and then went ove...

Hello!  I am sharing. another card using the adorable Mice stamps from Pink&Main.  I think they are so cute I just couldn't resist. Altenew August 2024 Inspiration Challenge

Image
Hello!     I am sharing a card I created for the Altenew August 2024 Inspiration Challenge.   For this card I used the “Morning Glory” Stamp, Die and Stencil set from Altenew.   I started by stamping the flowers on a piece of Neenah Solar White Classic Crest Cardstock with Gina K. Altenew Wild Daisies

Image
Hello.  Today I am sharing a card I created with the "Wild Daisies" Press Plates set from Altenew. I started by placing the floral Press Plate on my Betterpress Platform and inking it up with Gina K. Designs Amalgam Ink.  I placed a 5x7 piece of Neenah Solar White Classic Crest cardstock on the Platen, taped it down with removable tape and ran it through my die cutting machine.     To create a mask, I adhered a piece of Eclipse masking paper to a piece of 5x7 copy paper and used removable tape to adhere it to the Platen.  After inking up the Press Plate again I ran it through my die cutting machine.  I removed the masking paper from the copy paper and cut out the mask.   After placing the mask on the floral image, I did some light ink blending with Distress Inks in Stormy Sky, Salvaged Patina and Shaded Lilac.  I tried to keep my ink blending more towards the center of the paper leaving the top right and lower left corners white.  I li...
