Altenew Wild Daisies

Hello.  Today I am sharing a card I created with the "Wild Daisies" Press Plates set from Altenew.

I started by placing the floral Press Plate on my Betterpress Platform and inking it up with Gina K. Designs Amalgam Ink.  I placed a 5x7 piece of Neenah Solar White Classic Crest cardstock on the Platen, taped it down with removable tape and ran it through my die cutting machine.

To create a mask, I adhered a piece of Eclipse masking paper to a piece of 5x7 copy paper and used removable tape to adhere it to the Platen.  After inking up the Press Plate again I ran it through my die cutting machine.  I removed the masking paper from the copy paper and cut out the mask.

After placing the mask on the floral image, I did some light ink blending with Distress Inks in Stormy Sky, Salvaged Patina and Shaded Lilac.  I tried to keep my ink blending more towards the center of the paper leaving the top right and lower left corners white.  I lightly spritzed the panel with water to give the background a bit of a distressed look.  I then added some splatters of Perfect Pearls in Sunflower Sparkle for some shine.  I set it aside to dry overnight.

After removing the mask, I colored the flowers with Copic Markers:

·       Flowers - I colored both flowers with Y19, Y08, Y06, Y02.  On the left flower I added some YR24 on the petals towards the center for a little variation.  I shaded them with Prismacolor Pencils in Lemon Yellow (PC915), Deco Yellow (PC1011) and Yellow Orange (PC1002)

·       Flower centers – Right Flower: E59, E57, E51, E25, E23

                                 Left Flower:  E59, E57, E51, E25, E23, E44, E43                                                                   Shaded with Prismacolor Pencils in Dark Brown (PC946) and Light Umber (PC941)

·      Leaves – YG67, YG17, YG03, shaded with Prismacolor Pencils in Prussian Green (PC109) and Chartreuse (PC989)

I also used a Blue Slate pencil (PC1024) to lightly fill in any of the white areas where my mask wasn’t quite right.

I used the Seasonal Blooms Die Set to cut out the “hello” sentiment from a piece of gold foil paper.  I adhered this to the shadow layer which I cut out from vellum and glued it onto my card base.

I cut the panel down to 3.75” x 5” and adhered it to a piece of black cardstock cut down to 4” x 5.25”.  I adhered the entire panel onto an A2 size white card base.  To finish off the card I added some gold metallic pearl stickers from Honey Bee Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by!
