Memory Box Cauldron Witch

Hello!  Today I’m sharing a fun Halloween card I created with the Cauldron Witch and Fancy Gate Globe Dies from Memory Box.

To create the gate, I sprayed some Iron Gate Distress Mica Stain on a piece of black cardstock.  After it was dry I used the Fancy Gate Globe Die from Memory Box to cut it out.  Note: I used a lightweight black cardstock for the gate.  I recommend using a heavier weight cardstock so the gate won't be flimsy.

For the wall background I cut a piece of light gray cardstock down to 4.125” x 5.375”.  I used the “Small Brick Wall” stencil from My Favorite Things and ink blended some Lost Shadow Distress Ink on the gray cardstock.

I adhered the gate to the cardstock wall, about .5” up from the bottom.  I used Eclipse Masking paper to mask off the sides and I added some Black Soot Distress Ink to give the appearance of a path leading up to the gate.  I also put the stencil down again and added some Black Soot Distress Ink to the bottom three layers of bricks.

I die cut the witch from Neenah Solar White Classic Crest 80lb. cardstock and used Copic Markers to color her:

·      Head – I masked her collar and sleeve with masking paper.  Then I used C1 just under where her hat would be and along the backside of here head and neck.  I used YG01 on her nose and chin.  Then I colored over her entire head with YG17 and YG07.  I used the same markers to color her hand.

·      Front of her dress - I colored this section with BV25, BV23 and BV34

·      Cauldron, her collar and the back of her dress – I used C7, C5, C4, C3 and C1

·      Hat – I colored her hat with C5, C3 and C1 and for the band on her hat I used V17 and V15

I used a piece of shiny lime cardstock that I had in my stash to die cut the bubbles in the cauldron.  Once I had completed the witch and cauldron I adhered them inside the gate using Bearly Art Glue.

I used the “Magical Halloween” stamp set from Memory Box for the sentiment.  I stamped the “Halloween Greetings” sentiment on the same lime green cardstock that I used for the bubbles with a Versamark Watermark Stamp Pad.  I sprinkled Black Ultra Fine Embossing Powder from Simon Says Stamp over it and used my heat tool to melt the powder.   This stamp set comes with a coordinating die for this sentiment so I used it to cut it out and adhered it to my card with two ZOTS glue dots.

Finally, I adhered the gray panel to an A2 size piece of black cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by!
