Altenew Irresistible Inking Techniques

Hello!  Today I’m sharing my first card for Altenew’s Certified Educator Program.  This card is for the Irresistible Inking Techniques class.  I chose to complete this project because I have never been very comfortable with layering stamps, but after a few tries I was able to get the stamps lined up correctly.  I also love the look of the inked cardstock edges which is a technique I haven't used in a long time.

I started by cutting three panels from Neenah Solar White Classic Crest 80lb. cardstock.

The first is an A2 size, 4.25” x 5.5”

The second measures 4” X 5.25”

The third is 3.25” x 5.25” also from the Neenah cardstock.

I also cut a 3.5” x 5.25” piece of pink cardstock from my stash.

I stamped the largest flower from Altenew’s Stunning Cosmos stamp set on the smallest piece of white cardstock with Dusty Pink Fresh Dye Ink.  Then I stamped the coordinating layer with Raspberry Sunset Fresh Dye Ink.  I used Golden Honeycomb and Melted Butterscotch Fresh Dye Inks for the flower center and Mossy Meadow and Green Opal to stamp the stem.

The sentiment is from the Rosy Blooms Stamp Set which I stamped to the right of the flower with Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

I ran the Raspberry Sunset Ink cube along the edges of all three panels (the second, third and the pink one) to make them stand out.

To build up the layers I adhered the 4” x 5.25” panel to the A2 size panel with Bearly Arts glue.  I adhered the 3.25” x 5.25” white panel to the pink cardstock panel.  Then I used Gina K. Designs Foam squares to adhere the pink panel to the 4” x 5.25” panel.

Finally, I added some sparkle with Clear Crystal Shaker pieces from Paper Rose.  I don’t usually make shaker cards but I love to use these crystals as embellishments on my cards.

Thanks for stopping by!
