Altenew For the Guys - Mighty Corners
Hello! Today I'm sharing a card I created for Altenew's AECP Project - For the Guys!
I used the following Altenew products to create this card:
- Mighty Corners Builder Stencil
- Altenew Fresh Dye Ink - Arctic Mountain
- Altenew Fresh Dye Ink - Industrial Diamond
- Altenew Arctic Mountain Cardstock
Other Products Used:
- Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb. Cardstock
- Memory Box Glossy Paper Pack - Black
- Simon Says Stamp Happy Birthday Dies
- Essentials by Ellen Ebony Black Cardstock
- Bearly Art Glue
Geometric designs are great for masculine cards. They offer clean and simple lines that can be used to create interesting backgrounds.
I started with a 4 x 5.25" piece of Neenah cardstock. I lined up the stencil so the large point was at 2.625" and held in place with some repositionable tape. I used the Arctic Mountain Ink to ink blend the open area's on the stencil.
I flipped the card over and lined up the stencil again. This time I used the Industrial Diamond ink to fill in the open spaces.
I wanted the sentiment to be grounded and stand out from the somewhat busy diagonal design, so I created a mat by cutting two pieces of Neenah cardstock, one at 3.125" x 1.875" and the other at 3.5" x 2.25". I cut down a piece of the Arctic Mountain Cardstock to create a rectangle measuring 3.375" x 2.125" and a piece of the Glossy Black paper to 3.75" x 2.5".
I die cut the sentiment from a scrap piece of Glossy Black cardstock and adhered it to the smallest white rectangle. Then I adhered that to the blue rectangle, then the next white rectangle and finally the glossy black rectangle. Finally, I adhered the sentiment to the center of the card.
Thanks for stopping by!
